This research note presents an analysis of tourist flows to Amsterdam and it introduces a operational technique for the planning of the city's marketing. An empirical model is introduced to aid planning at a local level and estimated and tested. Using the model the paper then presents an analysis of overnight tourism to the city for the period 1982-1993.
