## Background: Surgical resection and adjuvant radiation therapy are standard therapy for soft tissue sarcomas. when the tumor approximates bone, periosteal excision may be necessary. it was hypothesized that periosteal stripping and radiation therapy would increase the rate of pathologic fracture.
