It is with considerable regret that the Editors have accepted the resignation of Richard Counts as our featured editorial writer. After five years, Richard has decided to give others the opportunity to voice their opinions about the state of affairs of computational chemistry and molecular modeling. There is little doubt that this was the most widely read section of the journal due to Richard's wit, insight and wisdom. We have been extremely fortunate to have someone with the ability to perceive the ironic, to puncture a few overheated balloons with minimal fallout, and to fearlessly forecast the future, or, at least, force us to consider the implications of the present.
In considering a regular replacement for Richard, the Editors were at a loss, as our profession seldom gives one an opportunity to display the talents which made Richard's articles so relevant and readable. We have, therefore, decided to challenge our readership to contribute editorials expressing their viewpoints on topics of general interest to our community. Certainly, all of us have one, or more, burning issue which we would like considered by our colleagues. Here is the opportunity! Now is the time! Send us your message for the community!
