โฆ Synopsis
The authors retrospectively analyse the results achieved in recent years by surgical treatment of 103 malignant primary or secondary liver cancers: (Three patients have been operated on twice at different times for recurrence.) 23 hepatic resections were performed for benign lesions. The operative mortality is very low, the incidence of postoperative coniplications is minimal, and the survival up to 8 years is rather satisfactory. In all cases we used Ton That Tung's surgical technique, that is, "finger fracture with intraparenchymal ligature of the vasculobiliary pedicles.

Liver resections were performed in 168 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) over the past 10 years; 1 16 were cirrhotics. Operative mortality was 7.7% (8.6% in the cirrhotic group and 5.8% in non-cirrhotics). In the years 1987-1992 the operative mortality decreased from 15.6% to 4.9% ( P < .
## Abstract Multiple secondary grafting procedures may be necessary in cases of complete or partial amputation of the lower limb if the aim is to preserve the initial limb length. The traditional concept of staged reconstruction often leads to a prolonged hospitalisation and a high complication rat
Sixty-five patients with hepatic metastases from colorectal primaries were studied in a prospective randomized fashion. The five patients with solitary metastases all had resection of metastases and 50% were randomized to pump therapy. Of the 16 patients with multiple resectable metastases, 7 had pu
