Abstract

Osteosarcoma commonly arises in the metaphyses of the long bones and rarely appears in other parts of the long bones or in flat bones. In the head and neck, 6.5% of all osteosarcomas occur in the jaws. A very rare case is presented in which an osteosarcoma developed in the nasal bones of a 4‐year 9‐month‐old girl without any predisposing cause. The literature pertaining to osteosarcomas of the head and neck, particularly in children, also is reviewed.
