โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
A patient is presented who had multiple areas of osteonecrosis occurring during corticosteroid therapy for systemic lupus erythematosus. Involvement of the metacarpal heads, not reported previously, was present. Radiostrontium scanning, which has proved useful in the early diagnosis of osteonecrosis, was used to document this complication and allowed detection of additional involved areas which appeared normal on routine roentgenograms.
