✦ Synopsis

In order to understand the abnormal flow conditions of blood in a locally constricted blood vessel, the analytical results are obtained for the oscillatory flow of blood which behaves as a Newtonian fluid. It is here assumed that the surface roughness is cosine-shaped and the maximum height of the roughness is very small compared with the radius of the unconstricted tube. Numerical solutions are presented for the instantaneous flow rate, resistive impedance, wall shear stress and phase lag.
