✦ Synopsis
Assuming the classical zero power space independent kinetic equations are valid, the fractional change in neutron population is given by : --= G (p) (k,. + k~).
no The expression G(p) represents the reactor transfer function in real time, and the equivalent reactivity is composed of an input reactivity k,, and a nonlinear product k,~, which is jointly dependent upon the input reactivity and the fractional change in the neutron density.
A reactivity bias has been calculated which to a good approximation will result in a harmonic output. Assuming the sensitivity (&/in.) of the oscillator to be linear, the stroke offset can be specified as a function of the oscillator frequency, length of stroke, sensitivity, and the effective l/ft.
