β¦ Synopsis
Neutrino oscillations searches with laboratory beams from accelerators or reactors explore several flavor transition channels, aud thus cannot be globally analysed in a simplistic two-flavor approach. A three-neutrino spectrum with two widely different mass gaps provides a simple and natural scheme to analyse both positive and negative oscillation searches. In this scheme, the possible patterns of neutrino masses and mixing are strongly constrained by the recent results of the Chooz reactor experiment. The "surviving" scenarios predict distinct signatures that can be probed in future short or long baseline laboratory experiments.
