✦ Synopsis

In this paper, two new oscillation criteria for forced second-order nonlinear differential equations of the form (~(,)~(~(~)) W(~)r -~ ~'(~))' + ~(~)i(~(,)) = e(~), ~ >_ ~o, are established. Our results are based on the information on a sequence of subintervals of [to, c~) only, rather than on the whole half-line. Our methodology is somewhat different from that of previous authors. The results presented here are much more general than a recent result of Li and Cheng [1].

By using the Riccati technique and the variational principle, new oscillation criteria are given for second-order quasi-linear differential equations with an oscillatory forcing term, which improve and generalize some new results from the literature. We present new oscillation criteria for the second order nonlinear perturbed differential equations. These criteria are of a high degree of generality and they extend and unify a number of existing results.
