The DNA of the organellar genomes of Allium cepa has been examined to detect restriction fragment length polymorphisms. Differences can be shown between both the chloroplastal and mitochondrial genomes of the N and cms-S cytoplasms in their restriction fragment profiles. Southern blot analysis of th
