Abstract

Dibenzothiophen‐5,5‐dioxid gibt in einer Niederdruckglimmentladung mit guter Ausbeute Biphenylen und als Nebenprodukt Dibenzofuran. Diese Reaktion hat keine photolytische oder pyrolytische Parallele und eignet sich zur präparativen Darstellung von Biphenylen.
