Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) polymers obtained from industrial waste fibers (i.e. "Bulana") were modified with ethylene diamine (EDA) at low and high concentration. The structural changes after the chemical treatment were determined by IR-spectroscopy following dissolution in concentrated sulfuric acid.
