✦ Synopsis
nitro groups in Ib. XPS analysis of a monolayer of II on silicon shows only a small loss of nitrogen (≈8 %) after irradiation with 40 mC cm -2 . A change of the N 1s binding energy could not be detected since the chemical shifts of cyano and amino N 1s signals are virtually identical.
