A simple procedure has been developed for the syntheses of functionalized mesoporous materials with sulfonic groups involving the co-condensation of tetraethoxysilane and mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane in the presence of block copolymers and hydrogen peroxide under acidic conditions. The modified SB
