Metal phosphonate Langmuir+Blodgett (LB) 5lms of an alkoxyphenyl-substituted phosphonic acid (P4A) have been prepared with the divalent metals Mn 2؉ and Cd 2؉ . Structural characterization with infrared spectroscopy, XPS, and X-ray di4raction shows that the 5lms contain the inorganic continuous latt
