In the high temperature Rjm phase, the deuterium is equally distributed between two mirror-related positions. Below the 155 K transition (space group R3) only one of these sites is occupied. 2-(Me 2 NCH 2 )C 6 H 4 ]SnCl 3 (1) was prepared via (i) salt elimination reaction between RLi and SnCl 4 (1 : 1 molar ratio), in toluene solution, and (ii) redistribution reaction between [2-(Me 2 NCH 2 )C 6 H 4 ] 4 Sn and SnCl 4 (1 : 3 molar ratio), in the absence of a solvent. Recrystallization fr
