โฆ Synopsis
A mathetniatical mode1 is constructed to determine the optimum contract levels for firm water and on-peak energy supply from a dual-purpose desalination plant which will be operated in conjunction with an existing multi-purpose surface water reservoir. A computer program, based on dynamic programming algorithm, is developed to carry out the calculations involved in the exercise of the mathematical model. The model is applied to a hypothetical system for illustrative pu1pose5. For the cases studied the water cost was decreased by about thirtyeight percent when conjunctive operation was carried out.
