A new theory on the separation in hydrocyclones is developed on the b8ti of the dynamic behaviour of the particles to bo separated. This theory leads to the derivation of a dimensionless cyclone separation number, vzbich--as experiments have confirmed-is only dependent on the shape of the cyclone. W
