โœฆ Synopsis

Neural networks are finding ever-more applications in the design of combinatorial libraries. These can be divided into two types: Kohonen (self-organizing) maps, and feed-forward networks. While the number of applications is currently quite limited, a rapid increase in publications in this area can be expected in the next few years from the rapid development of general combinatorial chemistry technology.

In this paper a neurocomputing strategy is presented which combines data processing capabilities of neural networks and numerical structural optimization. In this strategy, an improved counterpropagation neural network is used. Two arti"cial neural networks are trained, one for the constraints and t

For many optimum design problems, the objectiยฎe function is the result of a complex numerical code and may not be differentiable and explicit. The first aim is to propose a way of solยฎing such complexity on an example problem. A noยฎel and global strategy inยฎolยฎing artificial neural networks and a ge
