Background: Anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae antibodies (ASCA) present in a subgroup of Crohn's disease (CD) patients indicate loss of tolerance against commensal antigens. ASCA can be induced in Candida albicans-infected rabbits, suggesting their potential crossreactive nature. The present study aimed
