## Abstract A low‐formaldehyde‐emission methylol urea/triethanolamine composite was synthesized through __in situ__ esterification of formaldehyde with triethanolamine and subsequent copolymerization of the synthesized polyester with methylol urea. The effects of the addition of triethanolamine to
