Components C 1 and C 2 form a series system. Suppose we can allocate the spare R 1 in parallel with C 1 and the spare R 2 in parallel with C 2 , or otherwise, allocate R 1 with C 2 and R 2 with C 1 . In this paper, we compare these two options using hazard rate ordering.
