## Abstract Four different poly(ether urethane) gels were prepared by polyaddition of saccharide derivatives (1, 2, 3α, or 3β) and poly(propylene glycol) with an L‐lysine‐derived diisocyanate, methyl (__S__)‐2,6‐diisocyanatohexanoate (4). Dibutyltin dilaurate and triisocyanate 5, that was also deri

✦ Synopsis
The polyaddition of L-lysine hydrochloride and bifunctional five-membered cyclic carbonate 1 was carried out in DMAc in the presence of 1 equiv of DBU or 2 equiv of sodium hydride for 24 h to afford optically active polyurethane 2 bearing hydroxy and carboxyl group. The polyaddition of L-lysinol and 1 was also carried out in NMP to afford higher molecular weight of optically active polyurethane 3 bearing hydroxy group in quantitative yield. These polyurethanes reacted with cupric acetate, sodium tetrahydroborate, and titanium tetraisopropoxide to afford the corresponding crosslinked gels immediately.

Cyclic(arylene disulfide) and polycyclic(arylene sulfide) oligomers were synthesized by catalytic oxidation of arylenedithiols or arylenetrithiols with oxygen in the presence of a copper-amine catalyst. These cyclic(arylene sulfide) oligomers can undergo free radical ring-opening polymerization at a
## Abstract The purpose was to develop a procedure to synthesize copolymer incorporating flexible polyisoprene blocks and rigid polycarbonate blocks, to obtain thermoplastic elastomer characteristics. The choice was directed towards poly(isoprene‐__b__‐carbonate) structures by using a condensation
Syntheses and polycondensations of optically active hydroxycarboxylic acids prepared from acid anhydrides and aminoalcohols were carried out. Novel polymers with it?. 9900-27,200 were obtained by the polycondensations of hydroxycaboxylic acids derived from maleic or succinic acid using 1.2 eq. of 1-
