## Abstract The optical properties of rhodamine B dye molecules confined in porous silica are reported. Porous silica–laser dye composite is obtained by simple impregnation of porous silica (PS) in rhodamine B (RhB) solution. The FTIR spectroscopy shows penetration of rhodamine molecules in the mat
