โฆ Synopsis
Optical switching is one of the basic functions in the
optical communication systems. In this paper, we will investigate
the switching properties of the nonlinear periodic multilayer
stacks. For this optical switch, the phase mismatching effect on
the switching characteristics (switching threshold and rise time)
is investigated. Also, in this analysis we study the effect of the
relative phase displacement between the linear and the nonlinear
index of refractions on switching parameters. Finally the optical
3-dB couplers for coupling the control and the signal fields in
the input and for extracting in the output ports are used.
