## Abstract A fiber optic distributed sensor, based on a Sagnac interferometer for determining the location of time‐varying disturbance, is presented in this paper. The proposed distributed sensor constitutes a Sagnac interferometer with an additional time delay fiber loop. Due to the time‐division

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Polarization maintaining fiber in a Sagnac interferometer is used to generate optical single sideband (OSSB) that can overcome the power penalty brought by optical double sideband modulation in fiber links. This OSSB modulation used in true time delay (TTD) can form digital TTD and overcome the power penalty. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
