โฆ Synopsis
The optical activity coefficient is calculated for a onezlectron model. For hexahelicenc, we give the curve shoCng the vuiation of this coefficient with the pulsation of the incident perturbing wave.

We study an optically active system with randomly oriented molecules. An'electromagnetic wave, traversing this fluid, induces electric and magnetic moments which are given [l--S] by the equations:

Using a simple, fust order molecular orbital theory the rotatory dispersion is estimated for inorganic complexes which are essentially octahedral\_ The results restituate the conclusions reached by Moffitt in 1956.
