โœฆ Synopsis

A rigorous theory is developed of the optical properties of a mixture of right-handed and left-handed cholestcric liquid crystals, taking into account the effect of absorption. The dependence of the rotatory power and circulx dichroism on pitch and on sample thickness is discussed.

## Abstract In this work, microstrip lines loaded with complementary split rings resonators (CSRRs) and series capacitive gaps are modeled by means of a lumped element equivalent circuit. The structures exhibit a leftโ€handed (or backward wave) behavior at low frequencies, followed by forward transm

A nucleation and ,srowth model is proposed to explain NMR observations of the reorder+ of a nematic-cholesteric lรฏquid crysta1 mixture. The model involves the growth of three dรฏmensional reordered regions. It predicts a time dependence involving expl-Ar?l) with N = 2.5. Previous measurements fit the

Bovine zeta-crystallin has the ability to bind with different DNAs. Initially, this protein was named regulatory factor 36 (Kang et al., 1985), but it has been shown to be an ocular lens zeta-crystallin (Jรถrnvall et al., 1993), which is considered an enzyme-crystallin (Rodakanaki et al., 1989). Copolymers of the nematogenic monomer, p-(E-acryloyloxycaproyloxy)-p'-methoxyphenylbenzoate, with various cholesterol-containing monomers were synthesized. The copolymers were shown to form mesophases of the cholesteric type. The dependence of the selective reflection of light on copolymer compositi
