Optical constants of YBaCuO from polarized reflectance measurements

✦ Synopsis

We report results of polarized reflection spectra of YBa2Cu30~ films and a calculation of the in-plane optical constants. We find a typical metallic behavior up to a photon energy of 3 eV. In particular, the imaginary part of the dielectric function is small above the onset of the plasma edge, in contrast to previous results. A plasma energy of 1.2-1.3 eV is estimated from the results.
