✦ Synopsis

We analyze the optical conductivity of the two-dimensional Hubbard model using the projection technique. The current self-energy and the static current susceptibility are evaluated perturbatively applying a novel real space summation technique. Results for the Drude weight and the incoherent spectrum at various filling densities are presented.
