✦ Synopsis

We report on optical reflectivity measurements from 0.03 to 12 eV at room temperature, as well as on Kerr rotation and ellipticity measurements from 0.5 to 5.5 eV between 0.5 and 200 K and fields up to 10 T. The 3 dominant peaks in the off-diagonal conductivity are assigned to transitions of 4f electrons. An analysis of the line shape allows to exclude some of the earlier models proposed to explain the high T c and the low magnetic moment of CeRh3B 2. We conclude that CeRh3B 2 is best described as a Kondo ferromagnet.
