✦ Synopsis
Purpose: To describe the UBM findings in eyes with hypotony secondary to vitrectomy.
Methods: UBM was taken from 10 eyes with hypotony secondary to vitrectomy. The basic pathology was prephthisis in 6 eyes (injury in 4 eyes, hemorrhagic choroid detachment in I eye and endophthalmitis with retinal detachment in 1 eye); diabetic retinopathy in 1 eye; and penetrating injury in 1 eye.
Results: 5 eyes presented at UBM tracional ciliary body detachment; 2 eyes presented ciliary body hypotropy and 3 eyes tracional ciliary body detachment associated with ciliary body hipotropy.
Conclusion: UBM is useful to clarify the causes of hypotony secondary to vitrectomy, allowing a rational approach of treatment.
