โœฆ Synopsis

Proportional counters have certain useful applications and have been used by various observers. ~ Such counters are distinguished from ordinary Geiger counters in that they are operated at voltages below the threshold, this potential being defined, following Montgomery and Montgomery, 2 as the lowest voltage at which all the pulses produced by the counter are of the same size.
