An undulator for production of intense soft X-rays has been constructed for the Siam Photon Source (SPS). The device, named U60, is being characterized and prepared for installation. It is a pure permanent magnet planar undulator, consisting of 41 magnetic periods, with 60 mm period length. Utilizat

โฆ Synopsis
The Siam Photon Source (SPS) is an accelerator complex with a 1.2-GeV electron storage ring optimized for the generation of synchrotron radiation. The storage ring was originally designed to operate at 1.0-GeV electron beam energy, and was later upgraded for 1.2-GeV operation in 2005. The intent of this report is to present the overview of current machine performance, which includes user beam availability and problems which lead to machine downtime. In order to address the growing user demand for improved beam stability and machine reliability, several progresses has been made recently, with more machine improvements planned that will be carried out in the near future. These activities will also be discussed in this paper.
