The album is an illustrative guide to the textbooks "Transmission of discrete information in railway transport" and "Telecommunication technologies in railway transport". The material is divided into three sections: open information systems based on the ISO/OSI model; open information networks from the perspective of the MOE model/REM; network technologies and standards and their relationship to the reference model of REM, which is currently the basic one for specialists involved in the design, construction and operation of data transmission networks. The album is intended for students of higher education institutions, technical schools and colleges of railway transport studying computer science disciplines. It can also be useful for specialists in the design and operation of telegraph communication and data transmission in railway transport.
