✦ Synopsis
We said at the beginning of the year that things were going to change, and in many ways this has already proved to be the case. We are very proud to share several new developments with you. Firstly, ChemBioChem's Impact Factor has increased from 3.474 to 3.940. This increase, together with an Immediacy Index of 0.669, demonstrates the firm establishment of ChemBioChem in the chemical biology community (Figure 1). Secondly, ChemBioChem will now be indexed in Thompson's Biological Abstracts and BIOSIS Previews in addition to the many databases in which it is already listed, including, of course, MEDLINE.
Last year saw another steep increase in the number of manuscripts submitted to ChemBioChem, and the numbers are again excellent this year (Figure 2). Although most of ChemBioChem's manuscripts stem from Western Europe (48 %), the US (17 %) and Japan (9 %), manuscripts are received from all over the globe, and we

ChemBioChem is a European journal of chemical biology; it is co-owned by a group of European scientific societies and published by WILEY-VCH. Contributions in ChemBioChem cover chemical biology and biological chemistry, medicinal chemistry, bioinorganic and bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and structural biology, that is, research of the overlapping areas between biology and chemistry.
