✦ Synopsis

Ready Player One meets Stranger Things in this new novel by the bestselling author who George RR Martin describes as an excellent writer.

In January 1986, fifteen-year-old boy-genius Nick Hayes discovers hes dying. And it isnt even the strangest thing to happen to him that week.

Nick and his Dungeons & Dragons-playing friends are used to living in their imaginations. But when a new girl, Mia, joins the group and reality becomes weirder than the fantasy world they visit in their weekly games, none of them are prepared for what comes next. A strangeyet curiously familiarman is following Nick, with abilities that just shouldnt exist. And this man bears a cryptic message: Mias in grave danger, though she doesnt know it yet. She needs Nicks helpnow.

He finds himself in a race against time to unravel an impossible mystery and save the girl. And all that stands in his way is a probably terminal disease, a knife-wielding maniac and the laws of physics.

Challenge accepted.

Review

An excellent writer. George R.R. Martin

One Word Kill is the kind of story that will stay with you for a lifetime. Robin Hobb, New York Times bestselling author

A completely absorbing tale that perfectly captures the fear, awkwardness, cynicism, and optimism of adolescence. Anthony Ryan, New York Times bestselling author of *The Legion of Flame*

One Word Kill grabs hold of you and wont let you go until youve finished the last page. Its everything that I look for in a book, and like the best of reads, one that stays with you long after youve finished reading it. John Gwynne, author of The Faithful and the Fallen series
