β¦ Synopsis
Anilines were easily diazotized and efficiently converted to aryl halides in un one-pot reaction using sodium nitrite and halotrimethylsilane in carbon tetrachloride. Haiotrimethylsilanes are used for both generating nitrosonium donor from sodium nitrite, and the halogen substitution of diazonium group.
Continuous
search of useful functional group transformation reactions using halotrimethylsilane-inorganic oxide or salt pairs has been fruitful'.
