✦ Synopsis

Oneand &o-center expzndons of I/r,, in terms of one-electron variables can be partitioned into a constant km, oneelectron terms and two-electron terms. Preliminary calculations for light atoms and for the hydrogen molecule show that the orx-clcctron terms (including the constat) contribute most of the inter-electronic repulsion energy. This sugests a oxelectron model of atomic structure. Application of this model reveals unexpecied qeement with experimdnm nZultS XJIIcemin,o the orbital energies of moderate size atoms.

Finding the general solution of a singular system of linear equations requires computing a particular solution and a basis of the null space of the corresponding singular matrix. In this paper, we consider the case where the singular matrix is large and sparse, and the application calls for a direct

## Abstract The regularities of the formation of (__N__ + 2)‐atomic clusters obtained by the growth of (__N__ + 1)‐atomic clusters and the distribution of the (__N__ + 2)‐atomic clusters according to their stability are studied. The most stable (__N__ + 2)‐atomic cluster is not always obtained from
