✦ Synopsis

ABSTBACT: The problem of a liquid conductor confined between two concentric cylindrical electrode and driven electromagnetically is considered. Simplifiations and a linearization, of the three-dimensional field equation reduces the problem to set of coupled linear partial differential equations for the tangential velocity and for the ,induced tangential magnetic field. Applying Cfalerkin's method, the complete solution to the linear equations is outlined and the lowest-order solution discussed explicitly.

A solution is presented for the flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in the entrance region of an annulus with slip occurring at the walls. The condition is imposed that the pressure drop found from momentum considerations should be the same as that from mechanical energy considerations. Results a

This study deals numerically with the laminar slip-flow forced convection in a micro annulus with constant wall temperature. The solution takes the effects of viscous dissipation, velocity-slip and temperature-jump conditions at the surface into considerations. A hybrid application of the Laplace tr
