A new layered vanadium oxide [H 3 N(CH 2 ) 4 NH 3 ](V 6 O 14 ) was synthesized hydrothermally under autogenous pressure at 1801C for 48 h from a mixture of H 2 N(CH 2 ) 4 NH 2 and V 2 O 5 in aqueous solution. Its structure was determined from singlecrystal X-ray diffraction at room temperature with
