✍ M. Simon; H.-J. Bart 📂 Article 📅 2001 🏛 John Wiley and Sons 🌐 German ⚖ 60 KB 👁 2 views

Large variety of multiphase systems is treated in dispersing operations in order to generate a well defined disperse microstructure. Beside material properties as viscosity and interfacial tension, the ratio of shear and elongational forces in the flow field is of importance. In this paper we focus

The Droplet Population Balance Model – E
✍ M. Simon; S.A. Schmidt; H.-J. Bart 📂 Article 📅 2003 🏛 John Wiley and Sons 🌐 English ⚖ 211 KB 👁 1 views

## Abstract A droplet population balance model is employed in order to describe the hydrodynamic behavior of solvent extraction columns. This model describes the axial change of local column holdup and local droplet size distributions due to the basic phenomena, like droplet rising, axial dispersio

Continuum models of two-dimensional rand
✍ F. Bavaud 📂 Article 📅 1990 🏛 Springer 🌐 English ⚖ 361 KB

We study the statistical mechanical properties of a two-dimensional assembly of free particles coupled to a mechanical reservoir. The particles-reservoir interaction is modelised by an Hamiltonian depending on the convex hull of the particles only. We concentrate on models whose energy is the sum of
