✦ Synopsis

A new one-channel optical hit᎐miss transform processor is proposed. It is shown that the hit᎐miss transform can be reduced to be a cross-correlation operation by combining both the foreground and background structuring elements into a bipolar one. The proposed method can be realized using a phase-only joint transform correlation. Simulation results are pro¨ided.
