In this paper, we obtain the ordinary characters and module structures of the Young modules of defect 2 blocks of symmetric group algebras. We also study how these modules induce and restrict in a 2 1 -pair.

In this paper, we study if the following properties are present in defect 3 blocks ลฝ . of symmetric group algebras k แ‘ก , where k has characteristic p G 5 : n ลฝ . 1 the Ext-quiver is bipartite; ลฝ . 2 the p.i.m.'s have a common Loewy length 7. We obtain a criteria for a defect 3 block B of k แ‘ก to inhe
