β¦ Synopsis
There exists hardly any authentic record of algal flora of 'Doon Valley' except two new species of Batrachospermum (B. bharadwajaii and B. nodosum) reported by MISRA & DF.Y (1959). Recently (KHAN, in press) while surveying the area, the author came across two more members of Rhodophyceae, Compsopogon iyengarii and Acrochaetium sp. in fast running streams of an outlet of Dehradun Waterworks, growing intermingled with each other epiphytically on mosses. Very luxurient growth of these forms was observed in the months of August-October, 1968.
