โฆ Synopsis
A connexion between renewal models and the theory of instability is suggested and-based on it-a relationship, viz., Eq. (l), between the renewal frequency and the imaginary part of the time coefficient of the perturbation.
In this way the partial information supplied by the renewal models, which give only the dependence of the transfer coefficient on the diffusion coefficient or thermal diffusivity, is completed with information concerning the dependence of this coefficient on hydrodynamical parameters. As an example the problem of heat transfer in a nonhomogeneous fluidized bed is discussed.

Equations for the mass transfer (heat transfer) coefficient from a solid surface to turbulent separated flows, near the separation point, are established by means of a physical model proposed previously by the author and also by means of the turbulent diffusion coefficient concept. In the model met
