โฆ Synopsis
Nikuradse's velocity profiles for the core of turbulent pipe flow for high Re (Re>6000) are analysed by taking into account not only the dimensionless distance from the wal1 ti+) but also an equivalent radial position. An improved equation is introduced for the wal1 region, and both expressions lead to an improved correlation for the complete tube section. For low turbulent Re (Re< 6000) an empirical equation is proposed incorporating suitably modihed dimensionless velocity and wal1 distance parameters.
