✦ Synopsis

Abstract

It is shown that HORNSTRA's formula agrees with COTTRELL's results, namely that most of the jogs arising during plastic deformation are of the interstitial type. It is shown, however, that the number of vacancy jogs is not negligible compared with the number of interstitial jogs.
