A simple and exact formula for the breadth of Debye Scherrer lines is derived, with the assumption that the crystals have the same form and volume. This formula is used to evaluate the integral breadth as a function of tl~e direction of the normal on the reflecting plane for some triclinic crystals.

โฆ Synopsis
A model for interaction bet\veen an atomic system with two levels and the transverse elcctromngnetic field is discussed. This model which is csactly solvsble is used to study the probability amplitude for the decay of one level to the other. and to calculate the level shift due to coupling to e.m. field. and the line breadth of the emitted light \vavc.
